FinScans (finscans.com) is an AI-powered financial news analysis platform. References to "we", "us" or "our" refer to the operators of finscans.com.
2. Data we collect
2.1 Data you provide
Currently FinScans does not require registration or account creation. No personal data is collected through forms at this time.
2.2 Data collected automatically
- Server logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited, referrer URL and timestamps. Retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.
- Language preference: A cookie named
finscans_langstores your language selection. This is a functional cookie that does not require consent under DSGVO/GDPR. - Theme preference: Stored in browser
localStorage(not transmitted to our servers).
2.3 Community voting
When you use our sentiment poll or helpfulness rating features, we store a one-way hash of your IP address and User Agent string. This hash cannot be reversed to identify you personally. No raw IP addresses are stored in this context.
3. How we use your data

We do not sell, rent or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

FinScans loads the Inter font from Google Fonts. Google may collect limited technical data in this process. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Share links to X (Twitter) and LinkedIn are provided as standard HTML links. These services are only contacted if you actively click the share button.
6. Your rights (GDPR/DSGVO)
Under European data protection law you have the right to access, rectify or delete any personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Since we collect minimal data and no user accounts exist, most requests can be fulfilled by clearing your browser cookies and localStorage.

7. Data retention
Server logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days. Anonymous vote hashes are retained as long as the associated article exists.
